Wild Colorado

I kick my day off at the Red Rocks Park. I start my hiking trail around and over amazing red rocks. The landscape is simply stunning to my eyes, which have never seen something similar. In the distance I see the greenness of shorter mountains and even further I can distinguish the shape of Denver skyline. After a 2 miles trail I finally get to the Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Carved from red rocks, the Red Rocks Amphitheatre is one of the world's most popular concert venues in the world and has hosted stars such as the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin and Sting. When there's no concert, visitors have access to the free museum and Performers' Hall of Fame.

I’m just half of my day trip and I feel like this made my day, already. But more is yet to come.

I head towards the Lookout Mountain. Here the view is incredible: Denver on one side and the Rocky Mountains on the other, all covered with snow from last night late-spring snow fall.

Here I visit the Buffalo Bill Grave and Museum and I learn more about Buffalo Bill Cody's exciting story as pony express rider, buffalo hunter and showman: a legend here in the West.

Rocky Mountain National Park, the number 1 attraction in Colorado, stands in front of me. It offers more than 350 miles of trails to valleys of wildflowers, waterfalls, lakes and snowcapped peaks. While I'm driving through these windy roads, I see two deers hanging around and a coyote. Spotting wild animals free in their own environment is simply priceless.

Before leaving I stop by the town of Golden before taking my flight back to Boston. I enjoy a beer and BBQ ribs at Old Capitol Grill, a reference for all in town. Golden hosts the Colorado School of Miners and the Coors Brewing Company. The town stands at the bottom of the Rocky Mountains and it's a great tourist attraction here in Colorado.

Unfortunately it's time for me to go but I' so grateful for the day I just spent here: Another incredible on-the-road experience!
