I start my visit in Downtown along the 16th Street Mall. Shops, restaurants, cafes, hotels: the 16th Street Mall is a real trap for tourists! Lined with 200 trees and 50,000 flowers, this festive, mile-long street is a real happy place, full of tourists and people walking around.
Few minutes from there I visit the Colorado State Capitol in the area called Capitol Hill. Golden dome from outside and more golden inside, along hallways and rooms.
Another must-to-stop is the Colorado Convention Center, the home to the giant Blue Bear, created by Colorado-based artist Lawrence Argent. The big blue bear stands 40 feet tall !
I then stop in Larimer Square within the historic Larimer District. Larimer Square is a trendy block of Victorian buildings and full of chic shops, dance clubs, a comedy club, outdoor cafes and restaurants.
Just flew blocks away, I explore Denver's Lodo historic district filled with warehouses, brewpubs and rooftop cafes. I’m amazed by Union Station, a completely renewed station which hosts shops, chic restaurants, a bar and it’s filled with vintage sofas and chairs which make the atmosphere so glamorous and retrò!
It’s almost time for me to enjoy some good food in one of the good restaurants in Downtown and get some good rest in view of my trip tomorrow!
